Charles Grant-Salmon
Chairman 4DM

Kettering based 4DM'S charismatic Chief Executive Charles Grant-Salmon spent most of last year doing two jobs, as he doubled up his role to run sales within the firm. All that changed in January this year when Robin Skinner, a former Vertis salesman, became Sales and Marketing Director.

By all accounts, Grant-Salmon, who is seen as one of the direct mail sector's leading experts, made a success of the role. Sales for 2007 are projected to hit between £17m and £18m, up from £14m in 2005. More significantly, his efforts have made sure that the company has broken sales targets for its new digital offering, launched after Grant-Salmon signed for top-end Xerox digital press last April.

His latest move has been to split the company into three divisions, each with its own management structure. The decision will allow Grant-Salmon to concentrate more on the strategic direction of the company, in the knowledge that the day to management is in the capable hands of a team he has created. His approach has been described as the 'Grant-Salmon Academy' and one insider says "he loves putting together young, dynamic teams".
