Transcom adopts ISO 12647-7 colour standard

03/10/2007

Our continuous printing division Transcom has recently upgraded its proofing facilities to meet the ISO 12647-7 colour standard. Part of this process included print calibration tests to create new dot gain curves for each of the 3 presses ensuring colour consistency is maintained.

Apart from the obvious benefits of better colour standards and being able to accurately match customer supplied contract proofs we are already seeing the positive affects from an environmental angle. Reduced waste in ink, chemicals, paper, plates and energy will play a key part in our quest to become ISO 14001 accredited by the end of the year. In addition it should also create more capacity by being more efficient on make readies.
