4DM goes on £600k equipment shopping spree

28/11/2007 Kettering based 4DM Group have announced a raft of purchases to bolster its production facilities. The range of equipment totalling some £600k includes a cross section of equipment to be used for specific contractual commitments plus also enhance efficiencies on general direct mail output. The largest commitment is for two Sitma SM15 enclosing machines, one of which will arrive early December and the second in April 2008. Group Sales and Marketing Director Robin Skinner commented “we already have two Sitma inserters within our enclosing area as well as three Sitma poly lines and are impressed with the technology. They give us the speed and versatility required for the ever varied range of products that need to be enclosed without sacrificing speed”. Other new equipment includes a Hunkeler CS6 variable cutter and in line folding line which will provide high speed finishing for lasered products, a second card attaching line (SureFeed) and finally a GMS Hot Melt Glue System. Skinner added “the finishing, gluing and attaching equipment collectively help to expand our product range but more importantly gain higher efficiencies to ensure we remain competitive in all areas. 4DM has always prided itself on its ongoing equipment upgrade program, these investments fall within our structured plan and will be followed in the near future with further Digital equipment purchases on the back of a huge increase in orders over recent months” (4DM were one of six finalists for 2007 Printweek Digital Printer of the Year). |
