The group recognises that its products and processes impact on the environment therefore this policy defines the 4DM Group commitment to the identification and evaluation of the environmental impact of our operations and approved codes of practice and full compliance with environmental legislation. The 4DM Group are committed to fulfilling the requirements placed on us by our customers, environmental obligations and also those identified by local authorities, leaseholders and suppliers.

An Environmental Management System (EMS) provides us with a framework allowing us to assess the environmental impact of all historic, current and likely future operations and to seek to continually improve environmental performance through compliance with ISO-14001 and the co-operation of the entire 4DM Group.

In compliance with ISO-14001 we will be committed as an organisation to reducing pollution, emissions and waste to landfill, recycling as many waste materials as we can, and reducing energy for the benefit of our environment and those that interact within it.

We will endeavor to enhance this policy by raising awareness, encouraging participation and training employees in environmental matters, by expecting similar environmental standards from suppliers and contractors, and assisting customers to use our products and services in an environmentally-sensitive way where possible. We will make this policy available to our customers and the public on demand.

It is our aim to ensure, by regularly reviewing and adapting our environmental objectives and targets that all members of staff understand this policy and are encouraged to do their upmost to achieve 4DM’s environmental targets and be driven to continually improve and exceed our standards.

Paper and Environmental

The 4DM Group acquired both the FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody certification in December 2007. This Chain of Custody enables us to produce print and direct mail that complies with the two standards.  This means that paper is produced from sustainable forestry and can be traced back through the chain from tree to when it goes into the mail as an end product.

We became certificated for ISO 14001 in February 2008 for the Group operations. All sites are covered by the ISO 14001 certificate and we have achieved substantial reductions in waste management and recycling which forms the bulk of our environmental impact. We are working to continually improve our environmental impacts year on year.

We are not yet a Carbon Neutral company but have undertaken an audit by the Carbon Trust as part of our commitment to achieving ISO 14001. They have given us advice on how we can make best use of our energy and we are working on increasing our energy efficiencies.
